Referral program terms
The rules for earning commissions by recommending NotchDesk. They sit alongside our license terms and privacy policy.
Last updated 15 October 2026
The program
These terms are an agreement between you and Synthcoder (“we”, “us”), the maker of NotchDesk, about the NotchDesk referral program. By applying to the program or sharing a referral link, you agree to them. You’re an independent referrer, not our employee, agent or partner, and you can’t make promises or agreements on our behalf.
Joining
- Anyone 18 or older can apply on notchdesk.com/referrals. If you’ve bought NotchDesk with the email address you apply with, you’re approved automatically. Other applications are approved by us, at our discretion.
- Once approved, you get a referral link and a code. Keep your account details, including how we pay you, up to date from your referral dashboard.
What you earn
- You earn a commission when someone buys NotchDesk through your link (in the same visit, in the browser tab they opened it in) or by entering your code at checkout.
- The commission is a percentage of the price the customer pays before tax, shown on the referrals page (30% today).
- It’s earned on the first payment only: a founders’ lifetime license, or the first payment of a subscription. Subscription renewals, upgrades and later purchases don’t earn a commission.
- No commission is earned on your own purchases (self-referral), on free licenses, or on sales we can’t attribute to your link or code. If more than one referral applies, the referral recorded at checkout counts.
Your friends’ discount
People who buy through your link or code get a discount on their first payment, shown on the referrals page (20% today). The discount can’t be combined with other offers unless we say so, and it doesn’t apply to renewals.
Refunds and chargebacks
- Each commission is held for 30 days after the sale before it becomes payable, so that it’s only paid after the 14-day refund window.
- If a sale is refunded, its commission is reversed. A partial refund reduces the commission in proportion. If the customer’s bank reverses the payment (a chargeback), the commission is reversed too.
- If a commission is reversed after we’ve paid it, we deduct the amount from your next payout.
Payouts
- We pay commissions monthly, once the payable amount you’re owed is $20 or more. Smaller amounts carry over to the next month.
- We pay by PayPal, UPI or bank transfer, to the details in your referral dashboard, and email you a receipt. Fees your bank or payment provider charges to receive the money are yours.
- You’re responsible for any taxes on what you earn. We may ask for information we need to pay you lawfully, and may hold payments until we have it.
How you may share
Recommend NotchDesk honestly, to people who’d find it useful: in your own posts, videos, newsletters, websites and conversations. If the place you share it calls for it, say that you earn a commission.
What isn’t allowed
- Spam: unsolicited email, cold direct messages, comment spam, or posting your link where it isn’t welcome.
- Bidding on “NotchDesk” or similar words in search or social ads, or using them in ad domains or account names.
- Misleading claims about NotchDesk, its price, its features or our relationship with you, and pretending to be us.
- Referring yourself, or using made-up or other people’s details to buy through your own link.
- Posting your code on coupon or deal sites, or anything else meant to grab sales you didn’t bring.
If you break these terms, we may withhold or reverse the commissions involved, disable your link and code, and remove you from the program.
Changes and ending
- We may change these terms, the commission rate, the discount or the payout rules, or end the program. We’ll give you at least 14 days’ notice by email. Changes don’t reduce commissions you earned before they take effect.
- You can leave at any time by emailing us. If you leave, or we end the program, we pay what you’ve earned once it becomes payable, as long as it’s at least $20, and minus any reversals.
General
- These terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and the courts of Gujarat, India have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
- Our privacy policy explains what we store about referrers and the people who use their links.
- If part of these terms can’t be enforced, the rest still applies.
